Lexus Style Villa Sports power of h Gala
At the 2008 U.S. Open Championship
The Lexus Style Villa Sports power of h Gala rocked the 2008 U.S. Open Championship Saturday, June 14 at San Diego's Hard Rock Hotel. A part of their "power of h" initiative, a campaign to increase awareness of Lexus as the only luxury automaker with low-emission hybrid vehicles, the Lexus Style Villa celebrated the brand's hybrid philosophy and featured an experiential pre-fabricated Lexus Hybrid Living home on the rooftop of the hotel.
In addition to Lexus' presence, Callaway Golf was on-site and turned the Hard Rock Hotel's luxurious pool into a putting and chipping experience.
A joint venture between PJS and Miami Marketing Group (MMG), this initial Style Villa Sports was the first of a plan to roll out 4-6 more concepts by 2009. Conceptualized by Ed Kiernan (PJS) and Brian Gordon (MMG), the goal is to bring high profile entertainment and luxury lifestyle experiences to major sporting events throughout the year.
The first-year event drew quite a crowd, including Lexus partners Annika Sorenstam, Raymond Floyd, Peter Jacobsen, Chi Chi Rodriguez and Charlie Sifford. Members of the San Diego Chargers and plenty of Hollywood A-Listers rounded out the impressive guest list.
