Lexus came to Peter Jacobsen Sports to maximize their golf marketing investment in a creative way. We recognized that Lexus’ brand attributes of passion, innovation, extraordinary service, best in class, exceeding expectations and high integrity was a great match with the many centers of excellence with the governing body of golf in the United States—the United States Golf Association (USGA).
Rather than typical title event sponsorships we recommended a strategy that included a partnership with the USGA—with Lexus as the exclusive Official Vehicle of the USGA. This ground breaking partnership, one of only three in the 113 year history of the USGA, enables Lexus to provide luxury automobiles to all contestants in the U.S. Open Championship, the U.S. Senior Open Championship, and the U.S. Women’s Open Championship.
Lexus also uses this opportunity to gain brand identification through unique customer entertainment activities and consumer promotions. Golf fans at any of the three U.S. Open Championships can have their picture taken with the U.S. Open trophy and participate in a closest-to-the-pin contest on a golf course simulation and win great prizes.
In addition to developing the Lexus/USGA relationship, Peter Jacobsen Sports manages the logistics of providing all of the player vehicles at the three U.S. Open Championships.
