BARRINGTON, R.I. (June 24, 2008) – Torrential rains couldn’t stop the 10th anniversary edition of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. The 10 two-person teams each completed 28 holes during the two-day tournament before the storms rolled in. After a four hour rain delay, a playoff was initiated between the four teams tied for the lead.
Tied at 15-under-par through 28 holes were the teams of Billy Andrade and Davis Love III, Bubba Watson and Camilo Villegas, Paul Goydos and Tim Herron and Rocco Mediate and Brandt Snedeker.

After a three-hole playoff on 16, 17 and 18, first-round leaders Bubba Watson and Camilo Villegas emerged as the 2008 CVS Caremark Charity Classic champions. Villegas, who is sponsored on TOUR by CVS Caremark, made the winning birdie for his team on #17.
“It’s all about charity,” said Bubba Watson, who donated $10,000 of his winning check back to the tournament. “I know it helps Rhode Island a lot.”
FAMILY AFFAIR
Proud father Billy Andrade, CVS Caremark Charity Classic tournament co-host, was excited for his son to caddie for tournament winner Bubba Watson. He was a bit surprised at his job-well-done. “I didn’t know he could even read the greens,” Andrade said.
No Energizer Skins were awarded on Tuesday, allowing Monday’s skin-winning team of Billy Andrade and Davis Love III to take home the entire $50,000. Love III was on a hot-streak on Monday, as he took home the title of Neutrogena Suncare Long Drive champion as well, with a 315-yard drive on #15.
Over the course of its 10-year run, more than 200,000 people have attended the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
